David Lancaster - Bounty Land Warrant

Lauderdale County

On this 30th day of April 1855 personally appeared before me, Thomas Stone, an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid David Lancaster aged about seventy four years a resident of the State and County aforesaid that he is the identical man who was a volunteer in the company commanded by Captain Wm. Martin in the Regiment com. by Colonel Williamson in the war agst the Great Britain declared on the 18th June 1812, that he volunteered in Williamson County, Tennessee the term of six months, and remained in actual service in said war for the term of about seven months and was honorably discharged that he had heretofore made application for bounty lands under the act of 28th Septr 1850, and received a land warrant No. 4286 for 80 acres which he had since legally disposed of and cannot return he makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the additional bounty land to which he may be entitled under the act approved on the 3rd March 1855 he also declares that this nor any other act of Congress any bounty land warrant except the above mentioned.

We, A. S. Porter and Julian Marks, residents of the State and County aforesaid upon our oaths disclose that the foregoing declaration was signed and acknowledged by David Lancaster in our presence and that we believe from the appearance and statements of the applicant that he is the identical person he represents himself to be.
