Will of Joseph ChandlerIn the name of God Amen, I Joseph Chandler of Lunenburg County and Parish of St. James being sick and weak in body, but of perfect memory and calling to mind the uncertain state of this life and that it is appointed for all Men once to die, I do hereby make my last Will and Testament, and what would by God, it hath pleased God to bestow upon me, I give in manner and form as follows: First I recommend my soul to him that gave it me and by body to buried in a decent manner. Item I give and bequeath to my son Wm. Chandler the land and plantation whereon he now lives according as it is laid off to him and his heirs forever. I give unto Richd. Burnes three hundred and thirty acres of land whereon he now lives and is now possest to him and his heirs forever. I give to Joel Chandler the land and plantation where I now live to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my wife Sarah Chandler all my Personal Estate after my lawful debts are paid to her and to her disposal forever. Lastly I appoint my son Joel Chandler extr. of my estate given under my hand this twenty-second day of March 1763.
